It's hard to judge your moderation style for the proposed new list
without somehow seeing what's been eliminated. As I understand it,
your style will be different for PEM-CodherPlunks than for your
cryptography list. For the latter (and I'm quite happy with the
way you're moderating it), you cut off discussion when it becomes
repetitive or you feel the main meat of the topic has been gnawed
from the bones. For PEM-CodherPlunks this would not be appropriate,
as long as the posts are on topic (in my opinion).

Given the negative experience with moderation (perceived as
censorship) on the cypherpunks list, it might be useful to have
some mechanism to check rejections -- perhaps a web site that
has a two-week rolling dustbin of rejected articles, where people
could see what has been dumped and compare it with their own
preferences. Seems to me that could be automated in a fairly
straightforward manner.

This might serve to supplement and validate any posted criteria
you wanted to make public as your moderation policy.
