It is almost a complete RFC2440 (OpenPGP) system and works fine with
pgp 5.x (You have to use some options to make it work with pgp 5
because pgp 5 is not RFC2440 compliant).

For non-US-users/experimental purposes RSA and IDEA modules are
available: ftp.guug.de/pub/gcrypt/contrib/{rsa,idea}.c
To stop the deployment of RSA keys, key generation for RSA is not
available.
