I recall when I was searching through patents that Chaum/DigiCash have
a patent on a dlog-based blinded cash scheme. I don't have more details,
and my network connectivity is too haphazard right now to do a lot of
searching on patents.ibm.com...

Also, what *is* the deal with ECC and patents?

I have been told by people:
