There are a few problems with this: For one, state and activity now share
the same defaults, including state_type, which is then overridden in
{state,activity}_create. It also looks funny in the Activity defaults (and
properties) to have a selection of Normal, Begin, End, Activity. Maybe you
should have separate state and activity props?
