I should have thought of this,
but I almost always work with
"snap to grid" off. Please
consider allowing "shift" with
lines or ellipses to constrain

This is indeed one of the GREAT things about Dia!

One more thing about the ellipses:
it would be nice to have a
core ellipse object that could be
reshaped around a fixed center point.
