Connection points at the end of lines?

I have a many-to-one graph that I'm drawing, and it has a bunch of lines
going to one point, and then that point going to another point. I'd like
that middle point to be a connection point, so everything stays together
as I move the objects around... but I haven't figured out how to do that
without using a box to "join" the two lines together. Is there a way to
get connection points at the end of a line?
Also, more keybindings would be awesome! I find myself hitting "delete"
a lot and getting annoyed if it doesn't work, or having to go into the
menu to toggle between snap-to-grid or no. If delete and "g"? are
acceptable keys for those, I'd be happy to go poke around and submit a
patch.
